When it comes to Milei, the writing was on the wall: Anyone who has followed his short but disastrous time in power won’t be surprised by the recent images circulating on social media, of a shared press conference with Netanyahu in 2025.1 More important than the images, was the announcement the boss and his hireling gave to Argentina and the international community: A public agreement that the whole of Argentina (1,073,518 square miles) would become a retirement home for Israeli “citizens.” Many were shocked to see this, it seemed straight out of a conspiracy theory about the Andinia Plan — according to which there is or was a plan to establish a Jewish state in Chile and Argentina — for those of us who had kept our eyes open, this invasion did not come as a surprise. But to the rest, it meant that they finally got to see with their own eyes what Milei’s true program has been, since the moment he set his eyes on the presidency, or even before.
The program is incredible simple, sinister, and the embodiment of everything a true libertarian ought to hate:
First, to open the floodgates for Israelis, Zionist oligarchs, American contractors, and anyone connected to them to plunder Argentina’s resources — opening the gates for plunder at the expense of the Argentine nation, a policy of Israel first, Argentina last.
Second, to go all in on becoming, in his own words (in reply to Hans-Hermann Hoppe), “the most Zionist president in the world.”2 That means giving a blank check to every crime Israel has committed since October 8th, and enacting Draconian laws against the two boogeyman of modern politics, i.e., “terrorism” and “antisemitism” — a repugnant way to strip civil rights from anyone who finds genocide objectionable.
Third, to turn libertarianism into a wolf in sheep’s clothing — a movement of property, freedom, and peace transformed into one of plunder, subordination to foreign powers and lust for war. Worst of all, he has become a Trojan horse for Zionism and the welfare-warfare state inside the libertarian movement, polluting and corroding it from within.
The writing was on the wall, the letters so big only an ostrich with its head buried under ground could miss it. Where to even begin? From the earliest moments of his political career, he fell under the influence of two men. One, a rabbi, named Axel Wahnish3 was his “spiritual advisor”, and is now the Argentine Ambassador to Israel. The other , Eduardo Elsztain,4 is a member of Chabad, a hardcore ultra-orthodox Jewish sect which is built around the personality cult of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, who among other things, claimed that “Two contrary types of soul exist, a non-Jewish soul comes from three satanic spheres, while the Jewish soul stems from holiness.”5 Elsztain’s hotel has been a resort of Milei, and his forums have been the perfect place for Milei to give his pseudolibertarian speeches, and build up his sinister network. It goes without saying that Zionism is second nature to both of them, and that they are above and beyond the usual Christian Zionists we have all grown used to: They paint the picture of how entrenched Supremacism has been in the inner circle of Milei years before he became president.
Argentina matters to world politics for one reason: Natural resources. Argentina has lots of land, a fair share of petroleum and gives access to one of the greatest pools of Lithium (a resource important, among other things, to companies such as Tesla) in the world. On all of these fronts, Israeli corporations, both public and private, have been directly engaged. Merkorot is a state-owned Israeli company, it operates across the entire country, running half of its agriculture since 2022 (before Milei’s time) and has a grip that gets tighter by the moment.6 Merkorot operates in many countries, including Palestine and the Gaza Strip, where its actions have been one among many undertaken by the Israeli state to ethnically cleanse the native inhabitants of the land. With regards to oil, Argentina has again been humiliated, the Israeli petroleum company, Navitas Petroleum, has devised a plan for oil exploitation in the Falkland region, named “Project Sea Lion”.7 The area is still disputed, as Argentina does not recognize British claims on the Falklands and its surrounding waters. The previous government had issued a warning to the company, telling the Israeli third party to stay away from waters disputed between Argentina and the UK. But in comes the rightwinger, and a policy of retreat on national interests is instituted: Milei has given a blind eye, which is also a blank check to Navitas and its operations. Interestingly, Elsztain, Milei’s buddy of all people, is an Argentine citizen who uses his large wealth to arm the British Falklands.8 Finally, on Lithium, the Israeli company XtraLIT has partnered with the Argentina company YPF to implement Direct Lithium Extraction.9 In other words, we find public or publicly financed Israeli companies extracting resources on a scale that would not be possible without their Zionist satrap in Buenos Aires. It goes without saying that this is the opposite of homesteading and trade, this is an illustration of the nature of Israel, which Saifedean Ammous aptly called a land theft agency.10)
Anyone who has followed Milei’s time in power won’t be surprised by the outcome: Milei is another satrap of USrael’s quest for world dominance, his only purpose is to enable the United States and Israel to prolong their existence as a living violation of natural and international law. No, this is not a surprise, but something is. It has been staggering to watch and a great disappointment how libertarians were willing to sell their principles to garner favor with Milei, and an even greater disappointment was the even larger group of those who have opted for silence rather than calling Milei out for the fraud he is, and for how disastrous his Zionist, or rather, supremacist policies are. Those libertarians, like Philipp Bagus, Jesús Huerta de Soto or Walter Block who have turned a blind eyes to the truth that Milei is “the greatest Zionist in the world”, received prizes and rewards from him, and who, whenever anyone pointed out the fact that Milei is an active supporter of televised genocide always replied that Milei’s stance on the issue of Israel and its genocide in Gaza doesn’t matter, so long as he promotes “the libertarian message”. By doing so, they admit that they don’t care about genocide nor principles. They have tainted the name of our movement and sold out the ideals it lives and dies by. They have become what Rothbard called (working on Marxist strategy to build a libertarian philosophy of strategy, as Oscar Grau reminded us)11 right-wing opportunism, proponents of a strategy of politics without principles, but with short term gains traded for long-term defeat. Milei’s overtake of Argentine, German and Spanish libertarianism lacks only the Mises Institute. The applause given to his mentor, Huerta de Soto, is a sign of its Mileist future and an omen of disaster for the Institute that Lew Rockwell and Murray Rothbard built.
What must be done? It is a moral imperative of libertarians to disassociate themselves from those who use our ideas as a brand for supremacism. To dissasociate from anyone who supports a president who turns his country into the summer resort of Israeli war criminals, and who uses every ounce of his breath to signal that he is fine with genocide and plunder, so long as the right group of people does it.
